DOUBLE DIGIT CHROMER FROM THIS MORNING!!!
ANOTHER CHROMER FROM TODAY!!!
FRESH FISH ARE ON THE MOVE!!!

The inclement weather seemed to keep just about everyone off the rivers this morning as we only saw one other angler enjoy the fresh runs of chrome that seemed to have invaded our rivers. Sculpin patterns and string leeches were hammered on the swing followed by wonderful jumps, cartwheels, and long powerful runs that fresh steelhead in 42 degree water provide. Hot colors were Chart/black, red/black, blue/black, and purple/chart. Darker colors for the overcast conditions provided a strong silhouette for these fish to key in on.
Some rain and melting snow have rivers on the rise again on steelhead alley but i wouldn't worry as it is just going to allow more fish to come into the rivers and enable them to push upstream and get well distributed throughout our rivers, the next couple of weeks should be memorable.
The colder temps and snow are a blessing in disguise as it will keep the water temps down to a much better level for keeping Steelhead in our rivers for an extended period of time. I know many people like to "sight fish" this time of year but with the snow melt and cool temps fish will probably be in the holes. Don't think because you are not seeing fish they are not in the river, they are there just in the deeper water .
Chagrin: Chagrin had a couple of inches of vis this morning as it jumped from 350 cfs to over 600 cfs. Snow melt tomorrow will bump it up again tomorrow. Possibly fish by friSat.
Rocky: Visability was good on the rock today but snow melt has it slightly stained and rising but it should continue to be fishable.
Grand: Blown out and reports that tribs were not fishing to well as of Sun.
Conn: Had good visibility today but snow melt has it on the rise and to off color for very succesful fly fishing. Give it until fri/Sat.
Vermillion: rising fast and with almost an inch of rain it doesn't look good for this West side trib
Elk is on the rise from snow melt but will continue to be very fishable with 2 feet of vis.
