His dedication to the great sport of fly fishing is confirmed each year by the average, 100 guided days in central Pennsylvania and Southwest Montana. Eric’s knowledge and passion extends well beyond guiding. As the official instructor of the Regal Engineering Fly Tying School in Pennsylvania, Eric has the opportunity to share his knowledge of fly tying and entomology that enhances any Eastern Fly Fishing experience. His tying techniques are also available on his DVD, ‘Practical Fly Patterns that Catch Trout’ Volume I & II, with fly fishing great, Charlie Meck. In addition, he is a clinic instructor for the USA Youth Fly Fishing Team. An accomplished writer, Eric has had feature articles in Fly Fisherman Magazine, Eastern Fly Fishing, and he is a regular contributor to the Mid-Atlantic Fly Fishing Guide. He has been recently named the Managing Editor of Kype Magazine.

The release of his recent book, Common-Sense Fly Fishing; 7 Simple Lessons to Catch More Trout has allowed Stroup to educate the masses on the principles he teaches on the water every day. Each presentation, both instructive and interactive, is like a day on the water. Audience members from novice to experienced will benefit and enjoy Eric’s unique presentation and have the opportunity to have the manual in hand as they walk out the door.

River Report

Currently all the rivers are high and muddy with no fishing to be had anywhere in Northeast Ohio. Next week will be very good and only the rains will determine when. If we get the half inch they are calling for Friday thru the weekend should be great. If the rains don't come in the amounts they are calling for things should fish a couple of days sooner. Stay tuned as we will keep you posted as to when and where the rivers are starting to fish.
