BASSIN' ON THE CHAGRIN WITH THE DOC...

ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL UPPER CHAGRIN SMALLIE....

FISHING THROUGH DOWNPOUR FOR WILD CANADIAN STEEL!!!

AND THE REWARD!!!!

FISHED WITH A GREAT GROUP OF GUYS FROM THE SHOP IN CANADA THIS PAST WEEKEND FOR STEELHEAD AND HAD A PHENOMENAL TIME WITH DECENT FISHING FOR STEEL AND EXCEPTIONAL SMALLMOUTH ACTION. WILL POST MORE PICS IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS AS I RECEIVE THEM. THE RIVERS WE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO FISH WERE ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS AND THE GUIDES WORKED EXTREMELY HARD GETTING US INTO FISH. UNFORTUNATELY THE STEELHEADING ON THE NORTH SHORE WAS WINDING DOWN AS WELL AND WE DID NOT GET INTO A BUNCH OF STEEL BUT THE ONES WE DID MANAGE WERE WELL WORTH THE EFFORT. THE SMALLMOUTH ACTION (PICS TO COME) WAS BORDERLINE RIDICULOUS AS IT SEEMED YOU COULD NOT KEEP THEM OFF THE HOOK, SWUNG STREAMERS INTENDED FOR STEEL WERE HAMMERED ON ALMOST EVERY CAST WHEN A POD OF SMALLMOUTH WAS LOCATED. MORE ON THIS TRIP TO COME WITH NEXT POST.

AS FOR OUR LOCAL TRIBS GUYS IN THE SHOP HAVE BEEN CATCHING A FEW VERY FRESH STEEL ON THE GRAND AND CONNIE WHILE SEARCHING FOR SMALLLIES THAT ARE PROVIDING FAIRLY GOOD ACTION. IT SEEMS THE GUYS COVERING THE WATER FOR SMALLMOUTH ARE DOING MUCH BETTER THAN THE GUYS POUNDING THE SAME SPOTS. KEEP ON THE MOVE FOR THESE LAKE RUN FISH UNTIL YOU LOCATE THEM, AGAIN STICK TO THE FIRST FEW MILES OF RIVER FOR THESE GUYS. STREAMER PATTERNS SUCH AS CLOUSERS, AND ZONKERS DO VERY WELL IN OLIVE, BLACK, WHITE, AND GRAY.

PA TROUT FISHING IS IN FULL SWING WITH SULPHURS STARTING TO POP WITH ALOT OF CADDIS AND MARCH BROWNS AROUND FOR GOOD MEASURE. THE NEXT FEW WEEKS IS PRIME TIME FOR PA TROUT FISHING SO IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON GOING STOP IN THE SHOP TO FIND OUT WHAT'S HAPPENING ON YOUR FAVORITE STREAM AND GET THE HOTTEST FLY PATTERNS.

BASSING ON THE LOCAL FARM PONDS AND LAKES HAS BEEN PICKING UP AS THE LARGEMOUTH AND BLUEGILLS ARE ON THE SPRING FEED. BAIT FISH PATTERNS FOR THE BASS WITH SOME TOP WATER ACTIVITY AND SMALL NYMPHS AND POPPERS FOR THE PANFISH ARE WORKING WELL.

THE CLEAR FORK OF THE MOHICAN HAS BEEN FISHNG PRETTY WELL FOR BROWNS WITH CADDIS PATTERNS PROVIDING THE BEST ACTION UP TOP, PHEASANT TAILS AND CADDIS LARVA HAVE BEEN THE HOT NYMPHS.
